Why doesn’t this tell me what music is playing at the posh party hosted by the Easterbrook’s flat. It’s early rhythm and blues with a strong harmonica. Maybe early Stones or Yardbirds?
Thanks.

May be Paul Butterfield.

I came here looking for that because I think it may be Jerry Boogie McCain or Little Walter! Sixties blues harmonica switched on.

Paul Butterfield?

I thought it was probably Little Walter. I doubt the middle classes were listening to blues in the early sixties. Jazz would have been more likely.

Little Walter’s my first guess, too, and my second guess is LW’s protege Jerry Boogie McCain.

Sounds like Little Walter to me. Have got some ‘experts’ on the case.

Sorry folks, reached a dead end. It will have to remain a mystery.

I contacted the production company and the tune is Boogie 2 Shoes. Track 65 on this lp.

This album appears to be a collection of very cleverly recorded ‘cover’ versions by unknown artists. It was probably made for the use of film and TV companies, to fool people like us! End of research. Thanks for tracking it down.

The harmonica track: further research from looking at composer credits reveals that the majority of that album is by Knock-Out Greg & Blue Weather, Swedish musicians. Very clever, and definitely end of story!

Does anyone know the name of the song from the trailer?

If you mean the tiny snippets of vocal, then it sounds like The Platters, but there’s not enough to go on. The Platters were featured in the programme, so it could be them.
